Is the lighthouse gay

While the dynamic between the film’s two lighthouse keepers seems to be more hate-hate than love-hate, Eggers’ psychedelic imagery, the pseudo-domestic comedy between the two lighthouse.

The Lighthouse is overflowing with gay subtext, from the tender dancing scene shared between Tom and Tommy, to the comical arguments between them that play out like a drunk husband and upset housewife (“Yer fond of me lobster, ain’t ye?”).
